EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA: A HANDBOOK OF RESEARCH

CALL FOR CHAPTERS
Final Submission Deadline: July 31, 2020

Throughout history, education has played a prominent role in national development across the globe. Education is one of the most important inputs for the well-being of any society, and it is a powerful instrument of social progress without which neither an individual nor a nation can attain the growth that is necessary for development. Given this, good schools and teachers are essential; the policies, leadership and management of such educational system are equally important, as such, education should stand on a solid foundation.
There is no doubt that the best way to enhance effective education is through defined educational programmes, which are key to understanding the knowledge and skills required in teaching and learning. Education is meant to help students grow and develop, provide them with desired skills and professional abilities, assist them in acquiring the necessary understandings, concepts, values and attitudes to manage future tasks, and show them how to be productive members of the society into which they are born, grow and live. Thus, it is believed that with high-quality education programmes, it is possible to ensure the effective first-class teaching needed to raise students’ academic achievements and foster further national development.
A profound examination of education and development will provide benefits for practitioners, researchers, academicians, stakeholders, professionals, and students.Suffice it to note of the outstanding and remarkable contributions of education to nation building and sustainable development. Concomitantly, the editor(s) under the auspices of the Directorate of Research and Innovation, Metropolitan International University made this call for critcal stakeholders to submit chapters for consideration and possible inclusion in this forthcoming handbook(online and print) with ISBN published by Metropolitan International University Press on the impact of education on development in Africa and the global south community at large.
