Metropolitan International University celebrated its 6th Graduation under the theme “Unlocking Global Horizon” on February 23, 2024, at the main campus in Kisoro. The ceremony, which commenced at approximately 10:20 am, witnessed the graduation of 1,496 students with Degrees, Diplomas, and Certificates.
Hon. Dr. Philemon Mateke, PhD, the University Chancellor, presided over the event. He initiated the 6th Congregation of Metropolitan International University and, exercising his authority, conferred academic awards upon the Graduands.
The ceremony attracted a crowd of nearly 10,000 attendees, comprising government officials, dignitaries from the Kigezi region, religious leaders, and guests from various academic institutions. Notable personalities, including Hon. Kabbyanga Godfrey Baluku, the State Minister for ICT for Uganda, and officials from different national institutions, graced the historic occasion.

He emphasized the importance of navigating challenges with innovation. The world is evolving, and forward-thinking strategies are crucial for success in the dynamic landscape of today. He urged the graduands to not just adapt but thrive by embracing e-learning programs for advanced education. Establishing networks and strategic positioning will be the cornerstone of their brilliance in the future.
In this fast-paced world, adaptability is key. Joining the evolving landscape is not just a choice but a necessity. I reminded them that NRM stands as a beacon of progress, and I encouraged their support for government programs focused on socio-economic transformation.
As we celebrated the achievements of these graduates, I couldn’t help but feel hopeful for the future. Their potential is limitless, and with the right mindset, they can contribute significantly to our ever-changing world. Congratulations to the class of 2024!
