The Vice Chancellor of Metropolitan International University (MIU) serves as the Chief Executive Officer and the principal academic and administrative leader of the University. The key purpose of this office is to ensure the effective management and efficient use of the University’s human, financial, and physical resources in full compliance with the law, University regulations, and the Strategic Plan.

In accordance with Section 31 of the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act (2001, as amended), the Vice Chancellor is responsible for the academic, administrative, and financial affairs of the University and, in the absence of the Chancellor, presides over ceremonial assemblies, confers degrees, and awards other academic titles and distinctions of the University.

As the head of the University’s Management Team, the Vice Chancellor provides strategic leadership that strengthens MIU’s academic excellence, research capacity, student experience, and global competitiveness. This role includes guiding institutional development, fostering innovation, enhancing teaching quality, and promoting partnerships that advance MIU’s reputation locally and internationally.

The Vice Chancellor is directly responsible to the University Council, through its Chairperson. They supervise senior University officials including the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs), Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance and Administration), University Secretary, Academic Registrar, University Librarian, Dean of Students, Director of Internal Audit, and Religious Leaders as provided for in the University Constitution. Indirectly, the Vice Chancellor oversees the University Bursar, Deans of Faculties and Schools, and Directors of Institutes, Colleges, and other academic units.
