The university community recently witnessed a vibrant and highly anticipated democratic process as students participated in the Guild Elections, culminating in the election of new student leaders for the academic year 2026–2027.
The elections were marked by active participation, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of responsibility among students, reflecting the institution’s commitment to promoting leadership, transparency, and student representation. Candidates from various faculties actively campaigned, presenting their ideas, visions, and plans aimed at improving student welfare and enhancing campus life.
Following a competitive and engaging electoral process, Ngobi Julius Bebere emerged victorious as the Guild President for the 2026–2027 term. His win reflects the confidence and trust that students have placed in his leadership, vision, and commitment to serve the student body.
Alongside the Guild President, several other contestants were successfully elected into different leadership positions, forming a new team that is expected to work collaboratively to represent student interests, address key concerns, and foster a vibrant academic and social environment.
The elections not only highlighted the democratic values upheld by the university but also provided a platform for nurturing future leaders. Students were given the opportunity to actively engage in governance, voice their opinions, and contribute to shaping the direction of student leadership.
As the newly elected leaders assume office, the university community looks forward to a period of active engagement, innovation, and positive transformation under their stewardship. They are entrusted with the responsibility to uphold unity, promote inclusivity, and drive initiatives that will enhance the overall student experience.
